He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Mellinger and Bessie Mellinger (Kiger); his grandchildren, Amy Arnett and Joseph Einterz; and his brothers, Norris Mellinger and Keith Mellinger.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Mellinger; his children, Greg Mellinger (Pat), Susan Chapman (Jerry), Brad Mellinger (Janet), Alan Mellinger (Cynthia), Roger Mellinger, Sara Einterz (Mike), Jennie Thomas (Rob) and Libby Daniels (Chris); and his siblings, Marilyn Maddox, Carilyn McGuire and Cecil Mellinger. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren.

“I worked with ken at the highway department. We kept in touch for many years after I left employment there. He did handy work for my husband and I several times through the years. He was so special and my favorite “boss”. I never did forget about him even though we lost touch through the years. My mother passed away on Dec 11, 2019 at the age of 93. I know the loss and pain your family is going through. My prayers are with you all. Nancy Jones.”
