He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Burgess and Dorothy Burgess; and his brother Gary. He is survived by: his wife Connie; his son Kent Kester; his stepchildren, Wesley Crouch, Alayna Brewer and Lydia Brown; and his siblings, Marcia Coffey (Gale), Sherry Littrell (Paul) and Barry Burgess (Marilyn). He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
