She was loved and cherished by many people including: her sister Barbara Bensching (Gates); her parents, Hal Gates and Laura Gates; her former husband David Russell Richards; her children, Mark Watson, Carol Cheesman (Bill), Kathryn Watson (Jeff Martin), Doug Watson (Linda) and David Russell Watson; and her stepchildren, Maryse Richards (Brandon Taylor) of Chicago and Michael Richards (Rita Brogan) of Seattle. She was also cherished by ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
