It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Ann Kaupke of Zionsville, Indiana, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Dorothy Ann departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Dorothy Ann may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Dorothy Ann leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond E. Schmitz and Mary E. Schmitz; and her brother Raymond P. Schmitz. She is survived by: her husband Donn Kaupke; her daughter Mary Kay Knowles (Doug); and her grandson Thomas Knowles (Elise).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville Funeral Center (105 W Pine St, Zionsville, IN 46077). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Zionsville Cemetery (10555 Zionsville Rd, Zionsville, IN 46077).
Donations to the Boone County Humane Society can be made in her honor in lieu of flowers.
