He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Rule and Marcella Rule; his daughters, Stacee Rule Baker and Jennifer Smith; and his siblings, John Jr. and Phyllis.
He is survived by: his wife Jan Rule; his children, Andrea Rule (Clinton Davis) of Upland, Amanda Rule Dillard (Jason) of Muncie and Bryan Smith (Emily) of Arizona; his grandchildren, Joshua Reed (Mandy) of Nevada and Amelia Rule of Indianapolis; and his children, Stephanie Bustillo (Carlos) of Florida, Autumn Baker (Daniel Beeman) of Alexandria, Justin Baker of Anderson, Breanna Baker of Kentucky and Daisey Smith of Arizona. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
