He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Applegate and Sarah Belle Applegate (Thompson); and his wife Patty Applegate. He is survived by: his great-uncle Buford "Midge" Barlow; his uncles, Charles Applegate and George Ware; his brother Garry Applegate; his daughter Lynette; his son-in-law Doug Shott; his son Greg; his daughter-in-law Amy Applegate; his grandchildren, Drew Shott, Aaron Shott (Victoria), Aubreigh Applegate (Jacob Foster), Brandt Applegate and Addi Belle Applegate; and his great grandchildren, Jolie Foster and Ayda Foster.
