He is survived by: his children, Lehman Newsome, Lewis Newsome, Cheryl Barkey, Christina Cole, Michelle Briles, Michael Newsome and Kimberly Cowan; and his siblings, Roger Newsome (Wanda), Garnet Newsome (Rudy), Gary Newsome (Violet), Geraldine Wright (Johnny) and Jean Thomas. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren.
