He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dexter and Harriet Wright (Weaver); his siblings, Maribelle Mottier and Richard "Dick" Wright; and his stepbrother Carroll "Buck" Collison.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Wright (Malone) of Worthington; his children, Larry D. Pierce of Worthington, Jerry L. Pierce (Stephanie) of Worthington and Kari A. Pierce of Linton; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Wright of Worthington. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five nieces, and four nephews.
