He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Hilda Hoeppner; his former wife Gladys Bosselman; his wife Elsie Shanks; his children, Connie Smith (Rick) of Harlan, Chris Klopfenstein (Todd) of Huntertown, Cheryl Hammond (Gary) of Woodburn, Steve Hoeppner (Sally) of Berne and Matt Hoeppner of Auburn; his grandchildren, Lucas, Keely (Bains), Marcus, Kurtis Smith, Lee, Scott, Brandon Hoeppner, Jay, Kyle Klopfenstein, Trent and Trevor Hammond; his sister-in-law Ruth Ann Stemmler of New Haven; his niece Kari Shanks; his nephew Darren Shanks (Rachel); his brothers, Gerald and Virgil Hoeppner; and also Kennedy Varma of Canada. He was also cherished by 19 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the church or Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
