He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mitchell and Margaret Mitchell (Schuttrow); his brother William Mitchell; his brothers-in-law, Robert Gardini, Michael Ward and Jeffrey DuBois; and his niece Brenda Wray.
He is survived by: his wife Annette Mitchell (Salabura); his children, Megan Sloma (Tim), Michael Mitchell (Hollie), John Mitchell (Jess) and Thomas Mitchell; his siblings, Charles Mitchell (Gina), Mary Ann Cain (Malcolm), Suzanne Ward and Jeanne DuBois; and his grandchildren, Bradley, Courtney, Derek Sloma, Dylan, Noah, Emma and Maddon Mitchell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka, IN or St. Joseph County Humane Society.
