He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Runkle and Lillian Bodenhorn; his grandson Ian Pemberton; and his sister Karen. He is survived by: his wife Betty Runkle of Wolcottville; his children, Jeremy Runkle of Wolcottville, Dawn (Thom Pemberton) and Mary Beth (Bob Bouterse); his grandchildren, Katherine, Brian Shink of Avon, Andrew and Ashley Pemberton of Pullman, Washington.; his great grandchildren, Liam Pemberton and Eliana Pemberton; and his siblings, Kenna (Roger Hippenhammer) and Randy (Yvette Runkle).
Memorial donations may be made to the Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church.
