He was predeceased by: his parents, Harl Gambrel and Ida Gambrel (Patterson); and his sisters, Allene, Lucy and Ann.
He is survived by: his daughter Carol Scott (Jack) of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Melissa Wood (Ryan) and Courtney Hicks (David); his sister Bonnie Woolum (James) of Arjay, KY.; his great grandchildren, Addison, Ella, Lincoln and Noah; and his brothers, Earl, Lester and Arelee.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gene's name to the American Heart Association.
