He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Kraay and Alice Kraay (Hicks); his son Robert "Bob" Kraay; his brother Robert Kraay; and his niece Kathy Murdock.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Kraay (Gardiner); his children, Janice Kays (Paul) of Oakland City and David Miller of Lenoir City, TN; his grandchildren, Grace and Will Kays of Oakland City; his sister Martha Jane Murdock (Tom); and his nieces, Beverly Murdock and Kristy Murdock.
