He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Bayer and Bertha Bayer (Guntel); and his siblings, Kathleen "Sis" Crawford, Ardella Pulley, Pauline Lane, Lloyd, Chester, Irvin, Levinus and Floyd Bayer.
He is survived by: his wife Della Belle Bayer of Winslow; his children, Paul Bayer (Ken Muth) of Winslow, Donna McCandless (Max) of Winslow and Sharon Bradford (Tony) of Newburgh; his siblings, Ronald Bayer (Betty) of Dale, Jean Underhill (Dencil) of Huntingburg and Tillie Sturgeon of Huntingburg; and his grandchildren, Matthew McCandless (Kelly), Shelly Shake (Dewayne), Tiffany Soberg (Curtis), Warren McCandless (Elizabeth), Lesley McGregor (Andy) and Echo Georges (Darrin). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
