He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Porter and Jewel Porter (Rogers); his son Victor Porter; his siblings, Rachel Sue Hawkins, Michael and Robert Porter; and his granddaughter Stacey Lynn Porter.

He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Porter of Windfall; his children, Virgil Porter (Jeana Marie) of Sharpsville and Lisa Clark (Andy); his daughter-in-law Dee Ann Porter of Windfall; and his sister Betty Jo Askren (Don) of Tipton. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
