She was predeceased by: her parents, Manus Ison and Irene Ison; her husband Owen Bates; her brother Michael Dean Ison; and her brothers-in-law, Johnny Trent and Steve Blair.
She is survived by: her children, Norman Bates, Rick Bates (Joni), Lisa Morford (Rob) and Steven Bates (Carolyn); her grandchildren, Melinda Peed (Nathan), Christina Casperson (Aaron McCambridge), Zachary Bates, Torie Morford (Justin Rice), Erika, Allison Morford (Keslyn Harris), Kelbee Bates and Kyle Bates (Breanna Leach); her great grandchildren, Melissa Rice, James Rice, Gabriel Rice, Serenity Hudson-Ray, Cowen Hudson-Ray and Belamee Fellers; and her siblings, Ray Ison (Vera), Roger Ison (Hazel), Lynette Trent and Judy Blair. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, due to allergies, memorials may be made in Janice Sue's name to State of the Heart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331.
