It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan M. Bendel of Winamac, Indiana, who passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Karl Johnsen and Jeanette Johnsen (Krauss); her husband Wilbur Ed Bendel; her children, Jonathan Bendel and Denise Bendel; and her brother Joseph Johnsen.
She is survived by: her children, Diana Shannon (Tim) of Winamac, William Ed Bendel (JoAnn) of Avon and Brian Bendel of Winamac; her sister Jaqueline Roush of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Kristina (Dustin), Samantha (Kevin), Brandon, Jonathan (John), Zachary, Carissa, Saryna, Christopher and Brionna; her great grandchildren, Grace, Mason, Ellie and Fiona; and her pet Wilson.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Winamac Chapel (110 N Sally Dr, Winamac, IN 46996). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Arlington Cemetery (401 E Lake St, Elmhurst, IL 60126).
