She was predeceased by: her spouse Willie Prater; her parents, John Shepherd and Aluda Wireman Shepherd; and her siblings, Olen Shephed, Quillen Shepherd, Joe Shepherd and Erlene Mundy.
She is survived by: her children, Ricky Prater (Sandy) of Medaryville, Bill Prater (Brenda) of Salyersville, Ronnie Prater (Lisa) of Salyersville, Jackie Prater (Maxine) of Salyersville and Kathy Kellems of Francesvile; and her siblings, Jack Shepherd of Prestonsburg, Roger Shepherd of Prestonsburg, Edgar Shepherd of Prestonsburg, Menthe Prater of Prestonsburg, Kay Caudill of Paintsville, Angie Hall of Indiana and Ruby Bradley of Indiana. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
