He was predeceased by: his mother Joyce Newman; his daughter Robin Thome Emrich; and his nephew Michael Newman. He is survived by: his children, Michael A. Thome, Tracy L. Kiersztyn and Roberta "Bobbie" Ziebig; his brother-in-law Willard Newman; and his nieces and nephews, Pam Anderson, Jo Ann Hill, Leah Nellis, Randy and Ryan Newman. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great nieces and nephews, and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
