He was predeceased by: his siblings, Mike, Albert (George Banik), Marie Jamrosz and Alice Hokensen (Linda Szanyi); and his parents, Michael Banik and Mary Banik (Kusnir).
He is survived by: his children, Julie Pope (Don) and Shelley Banik; his grandchildren, Tiffany Garcia (Jason), Donald Pope, Sonny Banik and Jimmy Banik; his great grandchild Dylan; and his sister Dolores Levine (Ben).
