It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Daniel J. Arendas of Whiting, Indiana, who passed away on April 8, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Daniel J. Arendas to show support.

As Daniel departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rose Arendas (Giorgio) and Steve Arendas; and his brothers, Steve (Susan) and James (Annette).

Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church (2011 Clark St, Whiting, IN 46394). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St., New York, NY 10014, would be appreciated.

“My cousin, Danny Arendas, will be greatly missed. I mainly remember him as a little kid, running around and playing with my brother Mark when we got to visit our Grandma and Grandpa Arendas. He spent his life doing the very stressful work of helping others through his social work. When I had the privilege of meeting him as an adult I learned about his love of birding. He told me he loved to sit outside and see the birds. We are so sorry for his loss. With heartfelt condolences, Joyce”
