He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Geraldine Carpen; his sons, Michael Carpen, Sr. (Susan) and Jeffery P. Carpen; his grandsons, Michael Carpen, Jr. (Sabrina), Albert Carpen (Marina) and Jonathan Carpen; his siblings, Joseph Carpen, Paula and Barbara Hoagfelt; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Adzia (Allan), Michael Brenkus and Anthony "Tony" Brenkus (Wilma); and his parents, William Carpen and Barbara Carpen Hoagfelt (Miller). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
