He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin "Dutch" and Edna Bennington (Roe). He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann; his sons, Jay Bennington (Marnie) of Noblesville and Jeff Bennington (Cherish) of Whitestown; his grandsons, Sam and Noah Bennington; and his brother Ben Bennington of Jamestown.
