She was predeceased by: her parents, Vone Smith and Mae Belle Smith (Gott); her husband Ralph McFarland; and her brother Kenny Smith. She is survived by: her children, Shawn McFarland of Indianapolis, Randy McFarland (Charlotte), Cindy Lemoine of Lebanon and Dorothy Burney (Matt) of Whitestown; her siblings, Jerry "Snuffy" Smith (Alma) of Thorntown and Linda Sue Benham (Dick); her grandchildren, Griffin McFarland, Cody, Luke, Jessica McFarland and Blake Burney; and her great grandchildren, Cooper, Isla and Ellie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
