He is survived by: his parents, Larry Atkinson and Reanna Marie Pena; his sisters, Ezmeralda Pena, Jenavieve Atkinson and Bailey Atkinson; his grandparents, Kimberly Rice, Adam Rice, Kevin Atkinson, Monica Stemle, Tammy Atkinson and Zeph Stemle; his great-grandparents, Laura Gerde, Thomas Trittipo and John Gosc; and his aunts and uncles, Alexis Rice Trittipo, Courtney Atkinson, Phoenix Rice and Justin Atkinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Nikolai's honor to IU Riley Children's Hospital – Heart Center.
