He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sommers and Leona Murphy Sommers; his wife Brigid Sheehan Sommers; and his siblings, Roseann Jaffke, Dolores Glaze, Carolyn Sommers, William Sommers (Bob) and Paul Sommers (Dick).
He is survived by: his family, Catherine Wycoff (Alan), Mark Sommers and John Sommers (Lucy Jakad); his siblings, Mary Schrader Gephart, Helen Kieffer, Theresa Mathis (Gerty) and Raymond Sommers; and his nephew Carlos "Charlie" Sanchez Llibre Perez of Barcelona, Spain.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 2 great grandchildren.
