He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Garry W. Van Baren Sr. and Ron McCune; his great-grandparents, Van Kanegan, Scholten and Van Baren; his uncle Garry W. Van Baren Jr.; and his cousin Christopher Van Baren.

He is survived by: his parents, Dale R. Baren and Gina Van Baren (Walstra); his girlfriend Shelby Sanders; his siblings, Matthew Van Baren, Joshua Van Baren, Andrew Van Baren, Mateo Van Baren, Gabe Van Baren and Ryan Van Baren; his grandparents, Lita Van Baren and Roger Walstra Marilyn McCune (Cindy Green-Smith); and his uncles, Travis Walstra (Olivia) and Brett Walstra (Megan).

In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made in his honor to the DeMotte Christian Schools.
