He was predeceased by: his parents, Colley E. Gidney and Versie Lanier Gidney; his son Gregory Deerberg; and his siblings, Colley E. Gidney Jr., Dicie Burks, Dorothy Richmond, Max Burks and Shirley Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Edna M. Wireman Gidney; his children, William Gidney (Charlene) of Washington, IN, John C. Gidney (Susan) of Florida, Dana A. Deerberg of Wheatfield, IN, Tony Deerberg (Sue) of LaPorte, IN, Kema D. Deerberg Justice (Henry) of Westville, IN and Martin K. Deerberg (Kasha) of Germany; and his sister Peggy Garrison of Louisiana.
