He was predeceased by: his parents, John Balakir and Genevieve Balakir (Karwowski); and his brother Thomas Balakir. He is survived by: his wife Sherry; his daughters, Katelyn Balakir, Jessica Wynder (Jeff) and Natalie Pokorney (Dan); his grandchildren, Charlie, Vincent, Violet, Nora and Oliver; and his sisters, Barbara McDonnell (Bart) and Loretta Schechner (Terry).

Memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to Dunes Hospice.
