She was predeceased by: her parents, Omar Caffee and Mattie Caffee (Brown); her husband James Earl Layton; and her siblings, Nellie Dixon, Shirley Wilson, Ben, Melvin, Chester and Billie Caffee.
She is survived by: her children, Charlene Cooley (Keith) of Hope, Michael Grissom of Westport, Chris Grissom of Westport, Jack Grissom (Cecelia) of Westport and James Layton (Wendy) of Westport; and her sister Laura Geralds of Atlanta, Texas. She is also survived by her 11 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
