He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas A. Drake and Jewell Brown Drake; his wife Vivian Hall; his grandson Emery Becker; and his brothers, Jack Johnson and Orson Drake.

He is survived by: his children, James Gorman (Kim) of Greensburg, June Woodard (Robert) of Senatobia, MS and Susan Becker (Vic) of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Gaston Gorman (Sara) of Indianapolis, Clara Becker of Grand Rapids, MI and Thomas Gorman of Greensburg; and his brother Jerry Drake of Columbus. He is also survived by 1 niece and 2 nephews.
