He is survived by: his sons, Charles Bassett of Westport, Gregory S. Bassett of Westport and Buddy Bassett of Westport; his grandchildren, Loy Martin Bassett and Stacie Michelle Bassett; his sister Shirleen June Shaw (Herschel) of Columbus; and his sister-in-law Sondra Bassett of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
