He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Fugate and Corsie Fugate (Combs); his former wife Barbara Ann Fugate (Feltner); his son Billy Ray "Junior" Fugate; and his siblings, Raymond, Wes, Donald, Roger, Quinton Fugate, Gladys Fugate Campbell and Betty Jo Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy A. Schwarz; his children, Karen Woodall (Chad) of Greensburg, Charles "Carlo" Fugate of Greensburg and Adam "Wayne" Fugate of Greensburg; his stepdaughters, Tonya Newhart (Jeremy) of Greensburg and Amanda Wolf (Doug) of Westport; and his siblings, Florence Wooton of Wooton, Joyce Spencer (John) of Hazard, Kentucky, Marcus Fugate of Columbus, Michael Fugate (Katherine) of Hazard, Kentucky and Jim Fugate of Hazard, Kentucky. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
