He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnson Childress and Mildred Childress (Hall); and his brother Richard Childress. He is survived by: his wife Line Childress; his children, Eric Childress (Cynthia), Sonia Childress-Hoek (David), Tina Childress-Brown and Michelle Nickum (Don); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Alexander, Morgan, Madeline, Sydney, Melina and Pierce; his great grandchildren, Mosha and Meadow; and his pet Amie.
