It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon Kay Hughel of West Terre Haute, Indiana, who passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Howard and Martha Howard (Waymire); her daughter Amber Uptagrafft; and her sister Debra Howard. She is survived by: her close friend Richard Hart; her children, Ryan Vermilya (Brooke) of Westpoint and Mellainie Miller (Kit) of Shadeland; her siblings, Richard Justice (Renee) of Greenwood, Angie Howard of Lafayette and Teena Justice of Lafayette; and her grandchildren, Carl (Brandon), Fallon, Megan, Ashley, Samantha, Casey, Elizabeth, Kariel, Mikey, Brittany, Ashton, Beckam and Aaralyn. She is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Soller-Baker Funeral Homes & Crematory, Lafayette Chapel (400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel (400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Lafayette.
