He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester William and Maggie Ellen Merrill (Mathews); and his brother William. He is survived by: his wife Delores Maybelle Casey; and his children, John Merrill of Hoopeston, IL, Don Merrill, Carl Merrill (Karin), Ron Merrill (Debbie) of Goldsboro, NC, Charles "Chuck" Merrill (Betty), Judy Crowder and Lynetta Bales (Scott). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.
