He is survived by: his wife Claudia; his sons, George Cook and Dwight Cook; his daughter-in-law Pat Cook of Lafayette; his adoptive daughter April Starkey of Cayuga; and his sister-in-law Mary K. Cook of Quincy, IL..

Memorials may be given to the animal shelter of the donor's choice.
