He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Hickner and Edith Hickner (Jackson). He is survived by: his wife Katie; his children, Molly Jarrard of Linden and Ben Riegle of Lafayette; his granddaughter Lilly Jarrard of Whitestown; his brother Bernie Hickner of Cleveland Heights, OH; his siblings-in-law, Michele Hickner of Lafayette, Betty Hickner of Monticello, Lisa Foster of Mulberry, Carol Cornell of Linden, Mary Lamb (David Evenson) of Plymouth, MI, Jack Cannon of Mystic, CT and Bob Walters of Lafayette; his siblings, Miriam Walters (Joe), Margie Cannon (Jack), Ed (Mikki), Jerry (Betty), Mary and Phillip; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Nora Lamb. He is also survived by 30 nieces & nephews, 74 great nieces & nephews, 35 great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Guardian Angels Hospice, The Jenny Austin Paramedic Scholarship Fund (Checks made out to Franciscan Health Foundation with Jenny Austin Scholarship in the memo line), Honor Flight of Greater Lafayette, or another charity of your choice.
