He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal Scarlett and Ollie Frances Scarlett (Giffin); his wife Pat; and his brother Sam Scarlett. He is survived by: his children, Anne Michelle Scarlett and Sean Taylor Scarlett; his sister Frances Cunningham; and his granddaughters, Sidney and Linsey.

As such, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the St. John's Episcopal Church to be distributed to the Lafayette Urban Ministry Food Pantry.
