He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin D. Johnson and Gertrude Johnson-Leiding (Gocken); his daughter Susan Dunbar; and his sister Marie Brown. He is survived by: his wife Frances Jean; his daughter Jill Kottkamp (Cory); his grandchildren, Justin Kottkamp (Stephanie), Sarah Rhoads (Jay), Alexa Stewart (Stevie) and Cole Dunbar; his sister-in-law Paula Schultz; his sister Carolyn; and his brother-in-law Mike Gerkin. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Marion's name may be given to the Susan Johnson-Dunbar Memorial, Riley Children's Hospital, 702 Barnhill Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
