He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Linda and JoAnn; his wife Patricia M. Hankins of West Lafayette, IN; his children, Joseph A. Hankins, Julie Anne Gibson, Sarah Jane Wright and James G. Hankins; and his siblings, Tad Hankins and Susan Swynford.
