He was predeceased by: his parents, Stjephan Sila and Marija Sila (Kirincic); and his brother Joe Sila. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Yagunich; his daughters, Debby H. Sila of Columbus and Diana K. Arihood (Nolan) of Nashville; his granddaughter Stella Arihood; and his siblings, Stjepan Sila (Katica) of Croatia and Anna Stankovich (Joseph) of Dyer.
