She was predeceased by: her parents, John Halsema and Blanche Stover Halsema; her sons, Randell G. and John D. Lester; and her siblings, Geneva Lester DeVault, Charlotte Cain, Kathryn Anoskey, John W. "Bud", Dan and Philip Halsema.
She is survived by: her daughter Paula Taylor (Ted) of West Point, IN; her sister Mary Haywood of Lafayette, IN; her grandchildren, Ryan (Mary), Kelly, Nathan, Tristan Lester, Troy (Amy), Neil, Ross, Micah Taylor (Alica) and Deanna Ortman (Mark); her great grandchildren, Shanta Payne, Justin Lester, Hunter Qualls and Katye Lester; and her grandchildren, Trent, Seth, Lucas Taylor, Jocelyn, Daisy, Dixie, Duke Taylor, Forrest and Alta Ortman.
