He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Evans and Clara Evans; his siblings, Max P. Evans (Kim Bejot) and Joan Steinbach (Cecil); his daughter Susan K. Evans (Ajith Dissanayake); his brother-in-law William Wirth; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Betty Wirth.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Wirth; his sons, John Evans (Ronnee Schreiber) and Andrew Evans (Dawn); his grandchildren, Alexandra Dissanayake-Dill, Zoe Dissanayake, Dani, Karina Schreiber-Evans, Heather and Jared Evans; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Wirth (Mary), Joseph Wirth (Mary), John Wirth and Carol Knoch (William). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dennis H. Evans Summer Graduate Fellowship in Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
