She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Smith and Goldie Smith; her sisters, Betty Andres (Vincent), Janet Crum (Bill), Anna Cole (Russell) and Dorothy Hinssen (James); her nephew David Andres; and her niece Julie Andres.
She is survived by: her husband Carl Schaefer; her nephews, Vincent (Barb), Dennis Andres and James Hinssen; and her niece Jennifer Schnizer (Mark).
