He was predeceased by: his parents, Arley Edward and Hettie Ray Poynter; and his siblings, William Alden Poynter, Wanda Savannah Isaacs, John Alvis Poynter, Edwina Jane Adams and Leland Wayne Poynter.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Poynter (Kim), Nathan Poynter (Judy) and Alaina Yockey (Todd).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donation be made to New Life Baptist Church in Browns Valley, IN.
