She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Applegate and Marjorie Applegate (Zeimmer); her husband Russell Carter; her daughter Darlene Sue Carter; her grandson Nathaniel; and her sister Marilyn Anderson.
She is survived by: her son Ronald; her daughter-in-law Renee Carter of Fort Wayne; her son Mark; her daughter-in-law Kathy Carter of France; her daughters, Kathleen Etheridge of Indianapolis and Carol Carter of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Reid Carter, Raelene (Kevin LaMott), Russell (Jessica Carter), Rachelle (Sam Harkenrider), Riley (Ashlee Carter), Lucas (Erica Carter), Emily Carter, Shane Etheridge and Carly Carter (Dylan Carter); and her close friend Debra Hudson of Fort Wayne.
