He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Linda of Illinois; his parents, Perry Thurman and Marie Thurman (Pope); his daughter Karen of Nebraska; his wife Lila; his brother Wallace; and his daughter Mary. He was also cherished by six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
