He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Yates and Carol H. Yates (Davies); his wives, Nancy Yates and Billie Bonnie Yates (Hayes); and his siblings, Kenny Yates, Sherry Webb and Sandy Critchfield.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Yates of Pennsylvania, Jennifer Seagert of Ohio and Michele Denise Woodward of Indiana; and his siblings, Gary Yates (Betsy Clouse) of Washington and Ila Lloyd (Jim) of Terre Haute, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
