He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Milton Layton and Eleanor Layton (Felix); his wife Leah J. Layton (Ferguson); his daughters, Carla Swartzentruber (Steve) of Odon, Paula Gingerich (James) of Washington, Pamela Gluck (Richard) of Scottsburg and Susan Huelsman (Christopher) of Loogootee; and his stepson Matthew Layton of Pendleton. He was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Washington Church of Christ, or the Elnora Church of Christ, and sent in care of Leah J. Layton, 1694 Troy Road, Villa 606, Washington, Indiana 47501.
